Comments: I have recently bought a Tamiya fwd. I think I made a mistake because it seems that there is very little information available on fwd and they are not as popular as I was told. I'm running a Paradox Pro motor -gears are 25t & 66t. I suppose it is common to have a lot of wheel spin on the fwd but how can I minimize this and is there another gear ratio you can suggest? Response: This is a tough one. First off, try to drive the car with a little lighter finger. By this I mean try to role your finger on the throttle instead of entering abrupt inputs. This may sound obvious but if you really think about it and try it, your car will handle a lot better. Next, think about investing into a speed control that has a torque limiting function. This will allow you to dial out some of the torque. Also, try lowering your gear ratio a bit by installing a slightly larger (26 or 27 tooth) pinion gear. This will take away a bit of your cars low end power, making it a little more drivable and offer some more top speed.
